Hi my name is Shane Keaney, the repetition of “ane” in my first and last name is visually nice right? Anyway I’m originally from a small town in southeastern Connecticut, I grew up sledding, not skiing. In High School I discovered that Graphic Design was a thing one could do, and that New York was the place to do it. After 20 years in NYC, my wife and I now live in Bend, Oregon. I love travel, music, comedy, hiking and biking, paying with our dog, cooking and gardening, and yes, design.
From 2005 to 2009 I worked in the busy in-house design department of the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), producing everything from Newspaper ads and brochures, to Annual reports and environmental graphics for the lobby. After some time spent traveling Europe and China, my wife and I lived in and worked in (I worked from, thanks to the internet) China from the summer of 2010 till the Spring of 2011.
From 2011 to 2015 I worked as a designer and art director for the fantastic Column Five and created many infographics, annual reports, ebooks, data viz interactives, branding collateral, and distilled diagrams for complicated concepts.
