THE DUMBO CIRCUIT was a purposed solution to a urban fitness route for the NYC Parks Department & the Dumbo Improvement District. The design approach came from the stated goals, which were chiefly: Connect seldom used segmented park space surrounding the Manhattan bridge, along with green spaces near the Brooklyn bridge; as well as strengthen community connections by encouraging people to work out together. Given these objectives, “Connection” informed the design of many aspects of the submission. From the branding, to mural and signage applications that visually connected planes, to messaging meant to reflect exercise and connection, for example “Get Fit Together”. The project was a team effort I led by Column Five's NY office. Mural and figure illustration by Riley Hoonan.
